Hmmm I have not been on for months because my computer has been down so I'm trying to catch up, I just came across something I think is strange though. I just had to join the group I created. Shouldn't you automatically be a member of your own group? lol.

This is a great list about things to not say about chronic illness.  I'm sure most people mean well when they say things like this but it's important for them to remember how it might be perceived.

My arthritis pain is every where.
However, that comes with age and working as a nurse for so many years.
I have the most pain in my lower body, including my feet.
In plain language ... I have become my mother ... ;)

The pain can devastate one's self and take a toll on your over all well being ... :(
As well as your family !
Penetrex cream also helps with the pain.
It is sold on Amazon.com.
I use it and the reviews are many and amazing.
$19.95 for a 2 ounce jar.

Ice packs or bags of frozen peas applied to the effect areas for 20 minute intervals also help.
In truth: It is just plain painful and takes over your life.

Hi all,

I have fibromyalgia throughout my body.  I am on Lyrica which has helped, Wellbutrin, amitriptyline and right now 30 mg of Cymbalta which I have been trying to quit and was on before my diagnosis; but after a few days, whammo!! So, I am back on the 30 mg.  I am also on Klonopin which I try to limit to when I really need it.

I live in Maine with my husband and 2 rescue dogs seen here. One was caged by a hoarder and needs people skills and the other was found by the side of the road covered with mats so bad the vet had to shave her and she is the most lovable thing going

I had to retire 3 months early because of the fibro.  I did medical transcription for a hospital and I just could not see my mistakes (?fibro fog),  It was very frustrating as I was very careful.

I have 2 grown children, 5 grandchildren, and 2 that come with the package LOL. They are happy and that makes me happy.  My husband (dear soul) is still working and plans to as long as he  can.

I know have a problem with my left knee being sore and bending also hurts. This happened after I cut back on the Cymbalta and don't know if it is related but will soon find out. The soles of my feet are numb along with several toes (was told it was part of the fibro). Any one with this problem?

I was so looking forward to weeding my flowers and have to do them a little at a time.

I have both rhumatoid and osteo arthritis.  (at least that is what my family doctor has told me)  I have never been to a specialist.  The last couple of years I have been getting worse and finding that there is not an arthritis drug that I can take....they either make me sick to my stomach or give me chronic headaches.   So, I try to keep active and walk as much as I can and try other less traditional methods...like ion foot bathes, which I have just started so will have to see if it makes a difference.
